Remembering Swami Vivekanada

When the nation remembered and celebrated Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth day, we all should be proud that we have had such a powerful monk,social reformer and great teacher in swami Vivekananda. The relevance of his thoughts and teachings are very important in this contemporary era.He was a visionary and great orator and spend his entire life time traveling across the length&breadth of this nation and swami enriched & enlightened the people with his teachings .His contribution to make Hinduism a unified one ,it  was one among his major contribution to the nation, his efforts to unify the different sects and beliefs of Hinduism in to one and there by creating vibrant national identity. He played a significant role in bridging the gap between east and west and more over stood and fought against the propaganda of christian missionaries. He played a pivotal role in taking the Hinduism to world and one of his very prominent speeches he rendered in Chicago by addressing the gathering as brother’s & sisters caught the entire world by surprise. He used every opportunity to teach the world what Hinduism is all about in its true nature and send a strong message to every one that even in this country of extreme diversity in people ,religion& demography still the Hinduism as religion stood the test time.

During his era he had instilled a sense of modernity in Hinduism by maintaining the original concepts and its teachings but made it relevant to the ever-changing modern world and he also stressed the importance of social service and converted in to divine service. His vast knowledge and wisdom had helped the Hinduism benefited with several new concepts and teachings. He was remarkable student and great listener and he was blessed with auspices of his beloved guru Sri Ramakrishna paramahamsa and taken to the outside world and spread the message what his guru wanted to communicate. When our nation celebrate his 150th birthday our society owes a great a deal responsibility and commitment to imbibe and inculcate his teachings and thoughts in its full spirit in  our day to-day life. “To treat all work as worship,and service to man as service to God “.
